HUMAN RIGHTS
~ All descriptions and quotes come from the respected websites ~
Human Rights incorporates Political Knowledge, this inturn allows awareness and enables us to take a stand and inform ourselves, and others of what is going on in the world, both locally and internationally. We have a right, a birthright, to have this informatios available to us. Research, is just one way to expose what goes on behind closed doors, the information that some want to keep behind closed doors. It seems to me, that slowly, but surely, people are getting more involved with politics, knowing that many of those who may have been trusted in the past, are no longer to be held high up on a pedestal, but are realized for what they are; simple humans, with all the negative traits that come with it.
We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their CREATOR, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
"On September 8, 1892 a Boston-based youth magazine "The Youth's Companion" published a 22-word recitation for school children to use during planned activities the following month to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Columbus' discovery of America. Under the title "The Pledge to the Flag", the composition was the earliest version of what we now know as the PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE."
I pledge allegiance to my Flag,
and to the Republic for which it stands:
one Nation indivisible,
With Liberty and Justice for all
Liberty =
The people of this Nation being afforded the freedom to pursue "life, liberty, and happiness",
Justice =
Each person entitled to be treated justly, fairly, and according to proper law and principle,
All =
These principles afforded to EVERY AMERICAN, regardless of race, religion, color, creed, or any other criteria. Just as the flag represents 50 individual states that can not be divided or separated, this Nation represents millions of people who can not be separated or divided.
We as humans, have rights we unquestionably attain when we enter this world.
No color, race, sexual preference, gender, or social and economical situation we are in, will determine what rights we have or who gets them.
I have searched the internet for web pages that support Human Rights and/or discuss Human Rights, and I have placed links to the many websites here. Unfortunately the World Wide Web has so much on it, I am unable to list all there is.
I have also added links to these very important written works;
"On September 25, 1789, the First Congress of the United States therefore proposed to the state legislatures 12 amendments to the Constitution that met arguments most frequently advanced against it. The first two proposed amendments, which concerned the number of constituents for each Representative and the compensation of Congressmen, were not ratified. Articles 3 to 12, however, ratified by three-fourths of the state legislatures, constitute the first 10 amendments of the Constitution, known as the Bill of Rights."
Preamble; "We the Peoples of the United Nations Determined to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war, which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind, andt o reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small, and to establish conditions under which justice and respect for the obligations arising from treaties and other sources of international law can be maintained, and to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom, And for these Ends, to practice tolerance and live together in peace with one another as good neighbors, and to unite our strength to maintain international peace and security, and to ensure by the acceptance of principles and the institution of methods, that armed force shall not be used, save in the common interest, and to employ international machinery for the promotion of the economic and social advancement of all peoples, Have Resolved to Combine our Efforts to Accomplish these Aims, Accordingly, our respective Governments, through representatives assembled in the city of San Francisco, who have exhibited their full powers found to be in good and due form, have agreed to the present Charter of the United Nations and do hereby establish an international organization to be known as the United Nations."
"The Federal Convention convened in the State House (Independence Hall) in Philadelphia on May 14, 1787, to revise the Articles of Confederation. Because the delegations from only two states were at first present, the members adjourned from day to day until a quorum of seven states was obtained on May 25. Through discussion and debate it became clear by mid-June that, rather than amend the existing Articles, the Convention would draft an entirely new frame of government. All through the summer, in closed sessions, the delegates debated, and redrafted the articles of the new Constitution. Among the chief points at issue were how much power to allow the central government, how many representatives in Congress to allow each state, and how these representatives should be elected--directly by the people or by the state legislators. The work of many minds, the Constitution stands as a model of cooperative statesmanship and the art of compromise."
"The UDHR is the first international statement to use the term "human rights", and has been adopted by the Human Rights movement as a charter. It is short, and worth reading in its entirety -- a summary would be about as long as the document itself."
Article 1: "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood."

Every UN member state is a party to one or more of the seven major human rights treaties. It is a universal human rights legal system which applies to virtually every child, woman or man in the world."
"In the halls of Congress, in September of 2005, a landmark Bill to establish a cabinet level Department of Peace was re-introduced into the U.S. House of Representatives (H.R. 3760) and introduced for the first time into the U.S. Senate (S. 1756.) "A thing is right only when it tends to preserve the integrity, stability and beauty of the community; and the community includes the soil, water, fauna and flora, as well as the people." ~ Aldo Leopold, A Sand County Almanac, 1949
"In Germany, the Nazis first came for the communists, and I did not speak up,
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I did not speak up, because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak up,
because I was not a trade
unionist.
Then they came for the Catholics, and I did not speak up,
because I was not a Catholic.
Then they came for me... and by that time,
there was no one to speak up for anyone."
"Human rights are our common heritage and their realization depends on the contributions that each and every one of us is willing to make, individually and collectively, now and in the future."
~ Louise Arbour, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights

The sanctity of marriage and personal privacy – the right to make life’s most personal decisions for ourselves and our families free from government interference – are fundamental freedoms and American beliefs that I hold dear. Politicians in Washington and Tallahassee made a mockery of these traditional values when they forced the government into the middle of my family’s tragedy and the personal decisions that were rightly between me and my wife and our god. The most dangerous moment is now, after the headlines have faded. There are two things we can do to fight back: Create a living will, download a pdf of a living will here: http://www.la-legal.com/LivingWill.pdf so families have a record of their loved ones wishes.
