A tax-exempt, non-profit corporation founded in 1987 for the purpose of finding homes for ex-racing greyhounds and educating the public on the suitability and availability of greyhounds as pets, the largest non-profit greyhound adoption group, and since it opened its doors in 1987 has adopted over 65,000 greyhounds into loving homes and has more than 10,000 members and 56 chapters across the country.
A national, non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to protecting greyhounds from the exploitation and abuses inherent in the greyhound racing industry. We believe that through education and continued media exposure, the public perception of greyhound racing will be altered from that of a harmless spectator activity to its brutal reality - a blood sport responsible for immense animal suffering and the routine killing of thousands of young, healthy dogs each year.
This website is meant to serve as an information center where the public can educate itself about what greyhound racing really represents. We have spent many hours thinking about the injustice of Greyhound Racing and the only way we'll feel a better about it, short of a nationwide dog racing ban, is to try to expose as many people as we can to the truth. We're still trying to figure out what horrible thing greyhounds must have done to human beings that they deserve to have us bring them into the world only to torture and kill them.
The fundamental mission of Greyhound Ranch Adoptions, Inc. is to provide shelter and medical care for greyhounds retiring from racing activities by providing foster-care and rehabilitation programs for these beautiful canines as they transition from the life of a regimented trained athlete to a household pet - - readying them for adoption to qualified homes, and for the education of the public regarding the history and development of the breed.
Across the country, GREY2K USA is achieving victories for greyhound protection. From informing the media about greyhound abuse to defeating industry bills that would subsidize racing cruelty, we are hard at work to end dog racing.
